Earlier, ahead of United's pre-season tour, Ten Hag had confirmed that he had a conversation with Cristiano Ronaldo. "I had a good talk. That is between Cristiano and me. English football club Chelsea reportedly agreed on personal terms with Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling to sign the English forward from Manchester City.
Earlier, the 27-year-old forward had held discussions with Chelsea Manager Thomas Tuchel last month and was a key target for the Blues.  
Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich were also in the contest to take the player.  
Sterling, who joined from Liverpool back in 2015, has netted 131 goals in 339 games for City. In fact, he has scored 120 goals for the Cityzens under Pep Guardiola, and only Sergio Aguero (124) has scored more goals for the club since the Spaniard's arrival in Manchester in 2016. 
With Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku joining Inter Milan from the Blues, Sterling is the first major signing by Boehly and will boost Chelsea's attacking ranks.

According to reports in the English media, Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Manchester City footballer Raheem Sterling.
The English forward has been a key target for the Blues this summer and had discussions with Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel last month.
