Football transfer: Christian Eriksen verbally agrees to join Man United, City signs Kalvin Phillips

Manchester City on Monday completed the signing of midfielder Kalvin Phillips from Leeds United on a six-year contract.

City agreed a basic fee of £42 million with Leeds for the England international last month, with a potential further £3m to be added in bonuses. Phillips, who came through the youth ranks at Elland Road, switches to the Etihad Stadium after making 235 appearances for his hometown club over the past 8 seasons.

City's rivals Manchester United have also started to shop as Denmark international Christian Eriksen has agreed in principle to sign for Manchester United on a free transfer after his contract with Brentford ended in June.

The 30-year-old is expected to go through a rigorous medical following his cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 but is set to boost new head coach Erik ten Hag's revolution at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, The Red Devis are also set to rope in Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord.
