The 2022 Qatar World Cup marks twenty years since Brazil last won football's greatest prize.

The five-time world champions will again start this year's tournament as one of the favourites to lift the famous cup, despite Europe's dominance over South America over the last two decades.

After the humiliating 7-1 defeat to Germany on home soil in 2014 - a day of shame now known as the Mineirazo - Brazil were again out-classed by Belgium at the 2018 Russia World Cup where they crashed out in the quarter-finals.

Neymar missed Brazil's 7-1 mauling to Germany eight years ago, but is now "a more mature player," according to his manager Tite.

If Brazil are to finish this year with a record sixth World Cup, getting the best out of Neymar and Brazil's many attacking talents will be key.

In Tite's final tournament as Brazil manager, he knows what it would mean for Brazil to end their twenty years of hurt and, in the process, restore the battered pride and reputation of the Selecao's jogo bonito.
