England prepared to face FIFA punishment for wearing OneLove armband at Qatar World Cup

England captain Harry Kane is all set to wear the OneLove anti-discrimination armband at this year's FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

While England run the risk of being penalised for such a move, the Football Association along with several other European nations are willing to risk punishment even if FIFA doesn't give its approval.

FIFA permission is required to wear the armbands and the UEFA working group is still waiting to hear from the world's governing body.

The armbands are part of the Football Association's anti-discrimination initiative which pledges support to the LGBTQ+ community.

It is significant because homosexual acts are illegal in Qatar, while the treatment of migrant workers building projects for the World Cup has also been a big controversy for the past decade.

And even if Qatar objects and FIFA doesn't permit the OneLove armbands, it's unlikely the Football Association & other nations will go back on their decision of wearing the rainbow bands.
