David Silva: Spain and Man City great announces retirement following serious knee Injury

At the age of 37, the esteemed Spanish footballer, David Silva, declared the end of his illustrious career on Thursday, just one week after sustaining a severe knee injury.

In a heartfelt video shared on his social media accounts, Silva said, "Today is a sad day for me. It is time to say goodbye to what I have dedicated my whole life to."

The gifted midfielder had been gearing up for another Champions League campaign, having played a pivotal role in Real Sociedad's fourth-place finish in Spain's La Liga last season. Unfortunately, his aspirations were cut short when he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in his left knee during training last week.

Throughout his remarkable journey, David Silva has been part of an elite group of Spanish players who triumphed in the 2008 European Championship, the 2010 World Cup, and Euro 2012, solidifying his legacy as one of Spain's footballing greats.

Furthermore, Silva achieved immense success during his ten-year stint with Manchester City, securing four English Premier League titles.
