Liverpool utterly failed to pull any miracle as Real Madrid chucked out the struggling English team to return to the Champions League quarterfinal with a 1-0 win in the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The reigning champions who entered the game with a 5-2 advantage dominated Jurgen Klopp's men throughout who have had a bitterly disappointing season.

With a 78th-minute strike, Karim Benzema sealed a distinctly expected result as the Spanish club will now aim to lift the trophy for the 15th time.

Meanwhile, Napoli handed Eintracht Frankfurt a 3-0 loss in the second leg to advance to the next round with a 5-0 aggregate at Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
