Champions League: Kylian Mbappe scores as PSG beat Real Sociedad, Lazio secure victory against Bayern

Paris Saint-Germain stormed to a two-goal advantage in their Round of 16 Champions League tie with Real Sociedad as they claimed a 2-0 first-leg win at the Parc des Princes.

PSG looked seriously out of sorts during the first half in which their visitors from Spain looked dangerous but stepped up their game after the break.

Their press and ability to restrict Mbappe were outstanding as they held Les Parisiens to just five shots in the first half. But Mbappe always seems to find a way as he proved he only needs one touch to do the damage.

It was a goal that saw Mbappe overtake his former teammate, Neymar, in the all-time leading goalscorer list in the Champions League. He has now scored 44 goals in the competition, the same as Mohamed Salah and Didier Drogba. Only 13 other players in history have more than the Frenchman.

Meanwhile, in the other match between Lazio and Bayern, Ciro Immobile scored a 69th-minute penalty to secure a 1-0 victory for the hosts Lazio against Bayern Munich, who finished with 10 men in their Champions League last-16 first leg on Wednesday.
