Champions League: Atletico fail to qualify for Europa; Tottenham seal last 16 spot with a dramatic win

Atletico Madrid even failed to qualify for the second-tier Europa League knockout rounds play-offs as Porto defeated the Spanish club 2-1 on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, Porto, which already qualified for the last 16, leapfrogged Club Brugge to finish at the top of Group B with 12 points.

Bayern Munich vs Inter Milan

Bayern Munich ended the Group stage of the Champions League with a 2-0 win vs Inter Milan. Both the teams have already qualified for the round of 16 from Group C. Bayern ended the group stage with 18 points, eight ahead of second-placed Inter.

Barcelona vs Viktoria Plzen

Meanwhile, Ferran Torres' brace helped Barcelona finish third in Group C and settle for a Europa League place for the second year in a row after they defeated Viktoria Plzen 4-2.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Olympique Marseille

A dramatic climax saw Tottenham grab a last-gasp 2-1 win at Olympique de Marseille to reach the last 16 round from Group D.

After trailing 0-1 at halftime, Spurs equalised 9 minutes into the second half but Marseille denied multiple opportunities to Antonio Conte's men after that.

However, Hojbjerg scored in the last minute of stoppage time to seal the game for Tottenham. With the win, Spurs top the group D and leave Marseille, who at one stage in the evening were at the top, in the fourth spot and out of Europe.

Liverpool vs Napoli

Liverpool beat Napoli 2-0 on Tuesday but the Reds failed to finish at the top of Group A of the Champions League.

Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez scored late goals to grab a victory over the Italian club but that wasn't enough given Jürgen Klopp's side needed to win the match 4-0 to grab the top spot.
