4th seed Novak Djokovic breezed past USA's Tommy Paul in the Australian Open semi-finals 7-5, 6-1, 6-2 on Friday.
He has now staged an ultimate showdown with Stefanos Tsitsipas where the winner will be crowned as the new world number 1 in men's singles tennis. If Djokovic wins the final, it will be his 10th Australian Open title.
It may be a straight sets victory but Paul too had his moments of joy when he came back from 1-5 down to level the 1st set 5-5. But it was shortlived as Djokovic didn't let the unseeded youngster enjoy his moment.

India skipper Hardik Pandya on Thursday said in-form opener Shubman Gill will start the T20 series against New Zealand ahead of Prithvi Shaw, who has made a comeback to the national team.
Considering Gill's sensational run in ODIs, Hardik said his selection was a no-brainer. Gill has smashed three hundreds including a double ton in his last four innings.
Ishan Kishan is expected to open alongside Gill.
"Shubman has done well and will start the series. The way he is batting and was already in the team," said Hardik ahead of the first T20I.
Hardik bowled with the new ball in the T20Is against Sri Lanka before doing the same in the third ODI against New Zealand on Tuesday with Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj being rested from the game.
Hardik said he likes bowling with the new ball.
"I have always enjoyed bowling with the new ball. Since quite a number of years whenever I bowl in the nets, I pick the new ball. I am used to the old ball so that I don't feel the need to practice with the old ball as much. It has helped in match situations.
"With our two main bowlers rested in the last game, I had to be ready. But (it) has never been about pressure, half of the times pressure is gone if you prepare well," said Hardik.

"Mahi bhai is here which is good as we get to meet him. We can get out of the hotel also (to meet him). Otherwise, the way we have played in the last one month, it has just been hotel to hotel.
"And when we meet we try to talk about life rather than the game. When we played together I learnt a lot from him. I have squeezed a lot out of him (knowledge)... there is not much left," said Hardik.
The skipper also said wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma has been rewarded for his performances in the IPL and domestic cricket but did not commit whether he will be in the playing eleven.
"Our strategy will be seen on the ground. Jitesh has been rewarded for his performances. Unfortunately, Sanju Samson got injured and Jitesh got the opportunity.
"We will try to win obviously. New Zealand is a good team both in T20Is and ODIs. They always challenge you. We will have to be at their best to beat them," he added.
India won the ODI series 3-0 and it is being followed by three T20Is in Ranchi, Lucknow and Ahmedabad respectively.&nbsp;

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, whose place in the Test squad against Australia was subject to fitness, made a fantastic comeback to competitive cricket with a 7-wicket haul in the Ranji Trophy.
Jadeja achieved the feat in the game against Tamil Nadu. Opening the bowling on a spin-friendly track, the left-arm spinner finished with 7/53 as Tamil Nadu were bowled out for 133 in the second innings.
With the 34-year-old giving a good account of his fitness in the match, he will most likely be part of the Indian XI in the first Test that starts on February 9.

Interestingly, Danjuma had been expected to join Everton and reportedly had given his medical examination there before Tottenham made their move and convinced him to join the north London-based outfit.&nbsp;

In a first for cricket, the ICC on Friday named an all-female panel of match officials, including the Indian trio of GS Lakshmi, Vrinda Rathi and Janani Narayanan, for the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup in South Africa.
Three match referees and 10 umpires make up the 13-woman team. It's a landmark moment for the ICC and its ambition of advancing the involvement and visibility of women in cricket.
India's Rathi and Janani, who earlier this month became the first female umpires to officiate in the Ranji Trophy, will be umpiring at a T20 World Cup for the first time.

Hockey India president Dilip Tirkey has been vocal about his disappointment over the Indian team's early exit from the Hockey World Cup 2023.
He once again expressed his concern over the hockey team and said that he will ask the coaches and senior players why the hunger to win was missing.&nbsp;
In an interaction with the Times of India, Tirkey said that when the team know that goal difference was very important in the league stage, they should have gone for it but he couldn't see that.
'We missed so many chances to win the crossover game as well. So, that's what I mean by the hunger missing,' he added.
