DPS RK Puram, Faridabad Shine in Oriental Cup 2025

New Delhi: The thrilling Oriental Cup Football Tournament 2025 has come to an electrifying end with Delhi Public School, RK Puram and Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Faridabad clinching the title in the boys' and girls' categories respectively.

In the girls' final, Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School, Faridabad, participating for the first time, triumphed over two-time champions Sanskriti School in a dramatic penalty shootout, emerging victorious with a 4–3 scoreline. Palak, Nidhi, Tanisha, and Somya displayed nerves of steel, converting their spot-kicks to secure the win for Faridabad. On the Sanskriti side, Aditi Chamoli, Amina Abdali, and Azaira Bajaj found the back of the net.

In the boys' competition, DPS RK Puram edged past The Mother’s International School in another gripping penalty shootout, winning 5–4. The crucial goals came from Arhan Gupta, Ayush Ranjan, Afraaj Taeiq, Aarav Pahwa, and Kartik Kashyap, steering DPS to victory. Despite valiant efforts from Amogh Shandilya, Daivik Bejgotra, Dhruv Tuli, and Trigya Chaturvedi, Mother’s International fell short at the final hurdle.

Both victorious teams were handsomely rewarded, each receiving a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh along with the coveted Oriental Cup trophy. The gallant runners-up didn’t go empty-handed, taking home Rs 50,000. Additionally, the coaches of the winning teams were awarded Rs 30,000, while the runner-up coaches received Rs 15,000 for their commendable efforts.

The tournament, which unfolded from July 21 to July 29, witnessed participation from 36 school teams—24 boys’ teams and 12 girls’ teams—from the Delhi-NCR region. The competition was structured in a league-cum-knockout format, providing intense and exciting football action throughout.
