Team India’s Lowest-Ever Test Score at Home: Rohit Sharma's Side Crumble for 46 vs New Zealand

In a shocking turn of events, Rohit Sharma-led Team India registered their lowest-ever Test score on home soil, getting bundled out for just 46 runs against New Zealand’s pacers in Bangalore.

With high expectations surrounding India's seasoned batting lineup, fans were left disheartened as Virat Kohli, Sarfaraz Khan, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and R. Ashwin were dismissed for ducks.

The Kiwi side, led by Tom Latham, put on a stellar performance, with Matt Henry taking a remarkable five-wicket haul. Young talent William O'Rourke also stepped up, claiming four wickets in this extraordinary bowling display.

This dismal batting collapse echoes some of India’s most disappointing innings at home. In 1999, India managed just 83 runs against the same opposition in Mohali.

Similarly, in 1977, they were bowled out for a mere 83 against England in Chennai. In 2008, South Africa dismissed India for 76 runs in Ahmedabad, and in 1987, the West Indies skittled India out for 75 in Delhi.

This latest debacle not only highlights the vulnerability of the Indian batting order but also raises pressing questions for head coach Gautam Gambhir and his players.

What changes will be made to address these glaring issues? Can this lineup bounce back and regain its composure, or is it time for a serious rethink in strategy and selection?
