KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants, who are just two seasons old in the IPL, released as many as eight players ahead of the auction and it included some interesting names like Daniel Sams and Jaydev Unadkat.

Also, LSG saw a big change in its coaching staff as mentor Gautam Gambhir left the side to join his old franchise Kolkata Knight Riders, and head coach Andy Flower also left the team. LSG also traded out Avesh Khan for Devdutt Padikkal from Rajasthan Royals.

The team had the lowest purse at the auction, with a tad above 13 Crore available to them. Despite having Mark Wood, Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, Yash Thakur and Naveen-ul-Haq, LSG needed some more bowling power in their lineup and for that, they picked players like Shivam Mavi, M.
