CSK captain MS Dhoni's cryptic post about new ‘role’ leaves fans guessing

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is eager for MS Dhoni to suit up again for the Chennai Super Kings. The last time the former captain of the Indian cricket team wore the shirt, the CSK won the IPL for a record-tying sixth time. While many predicted that MS Dhoni would retire following the 2023 Indian Premier League, he declared following CSK's championship victory that he would play on for the affection he has received.

MS Dhoni posted an interesting update on his Facebook page two weeks before the opening fixture of the Indian Premier League's new season.

"Can't wait for the new season and the new 'role'. Stay tuned!" he wrote. It's unclear whether the new season mentioned is the IPL 2024 edition and no one is aware of what the new role is.

Speculation over whether or not MS Dhoni will be coaching began with his post. Fans of CSK would be hoping it has nothing to do with a change in leadership.

In the presence of pacer Deepak Chahar, who aspires to make a national comeback by regularly performing well for his franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL), which starts on March 22, the Chennai Super Kings have already started their pre-season training on Saturday, March 2.

Devon Conway's injury earlier today stunned CSK as well, as he is anticipated to miss most of the upcoming campaign owing to it. CSK will need to rearrange their lineup to establish a better balance with Conway gone.
