BCCI turns down Hyderabad Cricket Association's rescheduling request | ODI World Cup 2023

After multiple changes, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on August 21 turned down the Hyderabad Cricket Association's (HCA) appeal to make changes to the ODI World Cup 2023 timetable.

According to a report by news agency PTI quoting a BCCI source, secretary Jay Shah met with HCA officials on August 21 in Delhi where the state unit was told that no changes would be entertained after a revised schedule was issued on August 9.

On August 19, the HCA requested the BCCI to reschedule back-to-back matches that are to be played in Hyderabad, citing security concerns.

The appeal came 10 days after the World Cup fixtures were revised with as many as 9 changes announced.

According to the new schedule, the city of Hyderabad will host two games one after the other.

On October 9, Netherlands take on New Zealand followed by Pakistan's clash with Sri Lanka on October 10, which led to local police authorities demanding at least a day's gap between the two events.
