Lakshya Sen beat Tze Yong NG of Malaysia 19-21, 21-9, 21-16 in one of the most fiercely contested men's singles final to clinch gold in his maiden Commonwealth Games.
The 22-year-old Malaysian, who beat former World No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth to make it to the final, started off well as World number 10, Sen lost closely in the opening game 19-21. But the World Championships bronze medallist staged a brilliant comeback to pull things back in the next. He won 15 of the last 16 points to take the second game 21-9.
The Indian youngster kept his composure in the deciding game and slew the giant killer 21-16 to win a historic gold. With that, he also extended his winning streak against Young to 3-0.

Australian cricketer Tahlia McGrath had tested positive for Covid-19 before the final of the CWG T20 game against India. The all-rounder despite contracting the Coronavirus played the gold medal match. McGrath who showed mild symptoms returned a positive test on Sunday. However, the Commonwealth Games Australia allowed her to participate in the match after consultation from CWG medical experts group, Cricket Australia confirmed in a statement. Her participation was also approved by International Cricket Council. The Australian board further in its statement said that to minimise the risk of transmission a range of comprehensive protocols have been implemented which will be observed throughout the game and for post match activity.The Aussie did not line up for the national anthem and was seen sitting alone in the dugout. However, McGrath who was dismissed after scoring 2 came out to bat without the mask. Later, McGrath came out for fielding and caught Shafali Verma, but was seen celebrating the catch at a distance from her teammates.

It very well could have been a 1-2-3 for India but Praveen Chithravel missed out on the bronze by just 0.03 metres. He finished fourth behind Bermuda’s Perinchief.

The postponed Asian Games will take place next year in Hangzhou after it was suspended on May 6 due to a spike in Covid-19 cases in China. 
Now, Asiad's 19th edition will take place from September 23 to October 8 in 2023.

However, the new dates have come as a major headache for the Wrestling Federation of India given the wrestlers have to fly directly from Russia to China without enough recovery time. 
Notably, Wrestling World Championships is scheduled to take place from September 16-24 in Krasnoyarsk, Russia.

The Wrestling Federation of India isn't too happy with the new schedule for the postponed Asian Games in Hangzhou.

Here's why

The 19th edition of Asian Games was originally slated to start on September 10 this year.

Last time, at the 2018 Gold Coast, India had won 66 medals in total - 26 Gold, 20 Silver & 20 Bronze. The big difference -was majorly because there were no shooting events this time. India had won 16 out of those 66 in shooting, including 7 Gold.
Australia finished on the top with 178 medals, hosts England won 176 & Canada wom 92 medals.

Days earlier at the Smithfields beach volleyball arena, Perry the bull led the crowd through a conga, on Sunday he strutted his hoofs to "Disco Inferno" by the Trammps.
The sound engineer rose to the challenge though and was a match for Perry as the crowd joined in.
