Charlie Woods Hits Hole-in-One at TPC Sawgrass Junior Event

Ponte Vedra Beach, USA, Sep 1 (AP) – In a remarkable display of golfing talent, Charlie Woods, the 16-year-old son of legendary golfer Tiger Woods, has achieved yet another hole-in-one.

This feat occurred on the third hole of TPC Sawgrass during the final round of the Junior Players Championship on Sunday. Like his thrilling hole-in-one at last December’s final round of the PNC Championship, Charlie wasn’t immediately sure of his achievement until the cheers of the gallery confirmed it.

Charlie Woods carded an even-par 72, which placed him in a tie for 31st in the American Junior Golf Association event, hosted at the iconic Stadium Course, where his father has celebrated victories at The Players Championship twice.

Ultimately, Woods finished 16 shots behind the tournament champion, Miles Russell, who secured his victory with a round of 70, winning by two strokes. Russell had recently reached the semifinals of the U.S. Amateur earlier this month and currently stands as an alternate for the prestigious Walker Cup.

Charlie wasn’t the only golfer with a spectacular ace on Sunday; Guus Lafeber from the Netherlands also achieved a hole-in-one on the par-3 eighth hole. Lafeber concluded the tournament tying for 19th place. (AP)
