New Delhi, Aug 27 (PTI) — The Archery Premier League is set to make its debut at the Yamuna Sports Complex in the national capital from October 2 to 12. The Archery Association of India (AAI) announced the event on Wednesday and unveiled a logo that encapsulates the dynamism, focus, and precision inherent in the sport.

The league promises to support India's Olympic movement while making a unique blend of sports, entertainment, and cultural education. This approach sets it apart from other leagues, potentially boosting the global profile of archery, according to a statement from the national federation.

AAI President Arjun Munda expressed pride in hosting this landmark event in the nation's capital. "With the dates strategically chosen, considering the schedules of our archers and the prevailing weather conditions, this event underscores our commitment to the sport at both a national and global level," Munda said. "Our objective is not only to attract top-tier talent worldwide but also to celebrate India's rich archery heritage."

The tournament will feature a diverse pool of talent, with 36 Indian archers joining 12 top international players, who will be divided into six franchises. Further details about these franchises are expected soon.

AAI Secretary General Virendra Sachdeva remarked, "The dynamic format and inclusive approach of the league are set to enhance the visibility of both recurve and compound archery. We eagerly anticipate welcoming international archers to the capital, offering them a glimpse into India's renowned hospitality, while providing fans with an enthralling, culturally enriching experience."
