Aditi Ashok Finishes Tied 36th; Brooke Henderson Wins CPKC Women's Open

Mississauga (Ontario, Canada), Aug 25 (PTI) - Indian golfer Aditi Ashok concluded her campaign in the CPKC Women's Open at a respectable tied 36th position, delivering an even-par 71 for the third time in four days. She ended the tournament with a total of two-under par.

Canadian sensation Brooke Henderson claimed her second CPKC Women’s Open title by narrowly overcoming her final-round playing partner Minjee Lee. This marked Henderson’s first victory in over two and a half years. She secured the win at Mississaugua Golf and Country Club with an impressive four-under 68, accumulating a final score of 15-under 269. World-ranked number four, Minjee Lee from Australia, also carded a 68, finishing just one stroke behind Henderson.

The turning point came on the par-three 14th hole, when Henderson expertly sank a six-foot birdie putt to break the tie for the lead. On the penultimate 17th hole, a short par-four, after Lee achieved a 13-foot birdie, Henderson deftly responded with a crucial 12-foot birdie to maintain her lead.

Mao Saigo of Japan finished in third place with a remarkable 11-under, following a round of 66. Her compatriot Akie Iwai, last week’s winner in Oregon and the initial leader of the tournament after the first two rounds, concluded with a score of 69, securing the fourth position at 10-under.
