Amarnath Yatra 2024: Dates, cost, how and where to register. All you need to know about the pilgrimage

If you or your family are planning to take the holy Amarnath Yatra, we have all the details. The annual yatra takes place from two tracks. One is the traditional 48-km Nunwan-Pahalgam route in Anantnag district and the 14-km shorter but steep Baltal route in Ganderbal district.

The registration for this year's yatra begins on April 15. Here are more details about the same.

All about Amarnath Yatra 2024

The registration begins on April 15 and the fee is Rs 150 per person and will be conducted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Pilgrims will have to complete the registration process using biometric eKYC authentication in real time with the help of designated bank branches.

The travellers should also register with a valid Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) issued by an authorized doctor, Aadhar Card, or a government-recognized valid identity card obtained on or after April 8, 2024.

Following the registration, pilgrims are required to collect the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) card from designated centers in Jammu and Kashmir divisions before commencing the journey.

During the yatra, make sure to not drink alcohol, caffeinated drinks, or smoke, One should also not stop at places which are marked by warning notices. One should also avoid wearing slippers as they can be dangerous. Don’t attempt any shortcuts on the route and make sure to stay with the crowd.
