Navratri 2021: Joining the festive spirit, a pandal in Baguihati has gone all out with the gold for Maa Durga. 

Navratri 2021: The festival of Durga Pooja is celebrated with great gusto in Kolkata. Joining the festive spirit, a pandal in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas, has gone all out with the gold for Maa Durga. 

At this pandal in Baguihati, one idol is sporting eyes made of 10-11 grams of gold, while another has been draped in a saree embroidered with 6 grams of gold. The bright saree costs ₹1.5 lakh and a total of ₹10 lakh has been spent in setting up the pandal.

With Covid-19 still looming large, the West Bengal government has issued special safety guidelines that have to be followed at all pandal gatherings this festival season.

The festival of Navratri will be observed from October 7 till October 15. This year Ashtami falls on October 13 while Dashami falls on October 15.
