Gwalior, UNESCO's 'city of music,' made history with a musical night as over 1500 tabla players gathered at Gwalior Fort, setting a Guinness World Record. Chief Minister Yadav declared December 25 as 'Tabla Divas.'

More than 1500 tabla players set Guinness world record in 'City of Music' Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh

UNESCO's 'city of music' Gwalior, witnessed a musical night on 25th December with more than 1500 tabla players performing in the 'Taal Darbar' at Gwalior fort simultaneously setting a Guinness World record.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia were also present at the event.

Expressing joy, Chief Minister Yadav announced that December 25 will be celebrated as 'Tabla Diwas'.

"This day is very special for us. To make this event memorable, December 25 would be celebrated as Tabla Divas. The history of music in India is considered to be more than 5000 years old. Music and Gwalior can never be separated," the CM said.

The record was established at the 'Taal Darbar' event during the 99th Tansen Samaroh, paying homage to the music maestro Tansen, who served as a musician in the court of Mughal emperor Akbar.
