      Getting out of the warm blanket feels like a mammoth task during winters and we often tend to become lazy during the chilly weather. Have you ever wondered why?

      According to Oxford Sparks, the circadian sleep cycle in our body is programmed to tell us when to sleep and when to wake up. Humans mostly sleep when it is dark and there’s no sunlight and remain active during the day. So, as winters have shorter days and longer nights, we often get more lethargic during this season.

      How to reduce laziness in winter

      • Keep your room lit enough and curtains always drawn during the day
      • No matter how cold it is, avoid working or eating on your bed
      • Take a walk after lunch and be physically active
      • Do not sleep more than 8 hours even if you are on a vacation
      • Try eating healthy as much as possible and avoid junk
      • Expose yourself to sunlight as much as possible
      • Be outdoors more often to meet family and friends and enjoy the weather
