Study suggests pregnancy can alter female bones permanently

According to a study published in the PLOS one journal, childbirth can create changes in the female body and permanently alter bones.

For the study, researchers used electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray analysis to look at the chemical composition of tissue samples from the bones. They discovered that females who have given birth have lower calcium and phosphorus levels than those who have not reproduced.

The findings revealed that reproduction can have long-term impacts on the female body. A change was also noticed in magnesium concentration, which declined in breastfeeding females.
