Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently took to social media to reveal that she is suffering from Myositis; a rare condition that can cause muscles to become weak, tired and painful.

What is Myositis?

According to Healthline, Myositis is caused due to inflammation in the muscles. It can be difficult to diagnose and the cause in most cases remains unknown.

Symptoms of Myositis

Primary symptoms may include muscle pain, fatigue, trouble in swallowing, fever, weight loss, joint pain and difficulty in breathing.

Treatment for Myositis

As per Healthline, there is no particular treatment for the disease. However, immunosuppressant drugs are recommended along with physical therapy, exercise, stretching and yoga. Apart from this, an anti-inflammatory diet can also be beneficial for better management.
