Wondering how to enjoy your cup of tea without worrying about weight gain? Look at nutritionist's advice

Tea lovers aiming to lose weight: Nutritionist advises low-calorie tea choices, limiting intake to 2 cups daily, and avoiding calorie-dense snacks with tea.

Wondering how to enjoy your cup of tea without worrying about weight gain? Look at nutritionist's advice

Are you a tea lover but skip it because you want to lose weight? Recently, Nutritionist Leema Mahajan shared the truth behind tea and weight gain. She suggests that a single cup of tea has barely 33-66 calories depending on the milk fat and sugar content.

Mahajan recommends adding skimmed milk over full cream milk and using 1 tablespoon of sugar, as this can help to cut down calories from your tea.

She also suggests not to consume more than 2 cups of tea a day and avoid pairing your tea with rusks, biscuits, and salty snacks which all are processed carbs and are calorie-dense.

Mahajan highlighted that excessive sugar in tea leads to weight gain. "One teaspoon has 19 calories, while one tablespoon packs 48 calories. Despite the 20-calorie difference per cup seeming small, consider the extra empty calories from each teaspoon," Mahajan advised. She also recommended limiting daily added sugar to 10 grams.

She cautioned against consuming these items daily due to their negative impact on overall health and nutritional balance. "These accompaniments are not only high in calories but also contain palm oil, refined flour, sugar, and trans fats."
