Singapore recalls Everest fish curry masala over alleged excess pesticide content

Singapore has issued a recall for Everest Fish Curry Masala, a well-known spice product imported from India.
The reason for the recall is the alleged detection of heightened levels of ethylene oxide, a pesticide considered unsuitable for human consumption.

This pesticide is used to fumigate agricultural goods and help prevent contamination. However, it is strictly banned for use in food items.

Singapore Food Agency said in a statement, “The Centre for Food Safety in Hong Kong has issued a notification on the recall of Everest Fish Curry Masala from India due to the presence of ethylene oxide at levels exceeding permissible limits.”

The SFA advises consumers who have bought the affected products to refrain from consuming them. Individuals who have already consumed the affected products and are worried about their health should consult a medical professional.
