According to healthline.com, this 'tear drop' shaped fruit contains essential nutrients like vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, potassium, magnesium, copper, zinc, manganese and iron.

Health benefits of figs:

Maintains blood pressure

Soluble fibre present in figs controls cholesterol and keeps heart diseases away.

Keeps away cold and flu

It is beneficial in keeping away cold and flu during winters and also keeps us away from asthma, fever and tuberculosis.

Beneficial in diabetes

Due to the soluble fibre present in figs, diabetic patients must consume it regularly as it does not allow glucose to be absorbed quickly into the blood.
