Jasmine Bhasin, a well-known TV personality, shared her recipe for a healthy homemade pre-workout drink that helps to keep her body toned and skin glowing.

To make this natural drink, take 1 beetroot, 1 carrot, a 1-inch piece of ginger and half a lemon. Grind all the ingredients together, strain the mixture, and drink it before heading to the gym.

Jasmine also mentioned that she eats 7-8 soaked almonds and walnuts while consuming her pre-workout drink.

Benefits of beetroot and carrot

Rich in Antioxidants: Both beetroot and carrots are high in antioxidants, such as beta-carotene, flavonoids, and polyphenols. These compounds help protect cells from damage caused by harmful free radicals, reducing the risk of chronic diseases like cancer and heart disease.

Heart Health: The nitrates present in beetroot may help lower blood pressure by dilating blood vessels, improving blood flow, and reducing the risk of hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. Carrots are also beneficial for heart health due to their high potassium and fiber content.

Improved Digestion: Beetroot and carrots are rich in dietary fiber, which promotes healthy digestion by preventing constipation, improving bowel movements, and supporting the growth of beneficial gut bacteria.

Enhanced Exercise Performance: Beetroot juice, in particular, has been shown to improve exercise performance and endurance by enhancing oxygen uptake and reducing fatigue. This is attributed to its high nitrate content, which improves blood flow to muscles during physical activity.

Brain Health: The antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds found in beetroot and carrots may help protect brain cells from damage, reduce inflammation, and improve cognitive function. Additionally, the nitrates in beetroot have been linked to improved blood flow to the brain, potentially enhancing mental performance.
