How does soaking mangoes in water for 2-3 hours before consuming help? Here's what we know

Mango season is here! Mangoes are good sources of vitamin C and have several other health benefits. However, Ayurveda suggests soaking mangoes in water for 2-3 hours before consuming them.

Dr Dixa Bhavsar Savaliya shared about it. According to Ayurveda, soaking mangoes removes the phytic acid that produces heat in our bodies. It also prevents our body from absorbing minerals like iron, zinc, calcium and others.

Moreover, soaking mangoes also prevents acne, constipation and other gut-related problems.

Benefits of eating mangoes

Rich in Nutrients: Mangoes are packed with essential vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin E, and vitamin K, as well as potassium and folate.

Boosts Immunity: The high vitamin C content in mangoes helps strengthen the immune system, making it more resilient against infections and illnesses.

Promotes Digestive Health: Mangoes are a good source of dietary fiber, which aids digestion, prevents constipation, and supports a healthy gut microbiome.

Improves Skin Health: The antioxidants present in mangoes, such as beta-carotene and vitamin C, help protect the skin from damage caused by UV rays and environmental pollutants, promoting a healthy complexion.

Supports Eye Health: Mangoes are rich in vitamin A, which is essential for maintaining good vision and preventing age-related macular degeneration.

May Aid Weight Loss: Despite being sweet, mangoes are relatively low in calories and high in fiber, making them a satisfying and nutritious snack choice for those trying to lose or maintain weight.
