Diwali 2022 | Indulge this festive season without tipping over

Diwali 2022 : From delicious mithais and desserts to tasty farsans and drinks, the festive season of Diwali is marked with a period of lavish feasting. You finish one sweet, grab for another, and before you know it, you can't stop yourself.

And while everyone does enjoy the festive atmosphere and the feasting that will ensue in the next few days, one cannot ignore the impact that it will have on everybody's health.

Here are some tips that will help you indulge in the festivities without really overindulging.

Keep an eye on the portion size

With Diwali comes boxes full of sweets and snacks from friends and family. With all these goodies around, it is important to keep portion sizes in check. Instead of grabbing a handful of sweets, stick to eating just one or two and pace yourself through the day.

Also Watch: Peanuts are not only for mindless snacking; they keep your heart strong too!

Don't skip your steps

It can get very difficult to slip into your room and exercise when you are in a festive mood. If not a rigorous exercise routine, make sure you clock in some steps to balance out all the binge-eating.

Go homemade

Avoid eating processed foods or buying sweets and snacks from outside. What you can do instead is whip up some yummy treats at home. This way you can keep the sugar and ghee quantity in check and it will also be preservative free. From baked chakli to besan ladoos, all these goodies can be whipped up at home.

Stay hydrated

During Diwali one tends to eat a lot of oily food and it can leave you dehydrated. So don't forget to drink at least 8-10 glasses of water everyday. You can also consume coconut water or fresh fruit juice to stay hydrated.

Go slow on alcohol

Before you pick your poison, don't forget that alcohol is usually high on calories. And if you add some soda or juice into the mix, the calorie count will shoot up even more! So it's a good idea to keep yourself in check to make sure you don't go overboard.

Also Watch: Are you drinking your green tea right? Know the how’s and why’s

With these little tips and tricks in mind, Diwali won't let you go down the unhealthy lane.
