Confused about where to store ketchup? Heinz comes up with a solution

An American food processing company Heinz has finally settled the most heated debate about whether ketchup should be stored inside the refrigerator or outside.

Heinz conducted a survey on 2,000 Britishers and found that four in ten (41 per cent) keep ketchup in a cupboard, and not fridge.

Taking to Twitter, Heinz wrote that "FYI: Ketchup. goes. in. the. fridge!!!". And after viewing the post netizens flooded the comment section; someone said, "Why the product is stored on shelves at the supermarket or at restaurants." While another comment read, "Bestie no I don't want cold ketchup."

Olivia Lennon, at Heinz Tomato, told Daily Mail that "Although we’re aware many Heinz Tomato Ketchup fans have been storing their ketchup in the cupboard, we do recommend refrigeration after opening".

Storing ketchup in a fridge helps maintain its quality and extend the shelf life of the product. The cold temperature helps slow down bacterial growth and preserves the flavour and texture of ketchup for a longer period.
