Cannes 2024: From Malabar paratha to rabri, Film Festival to have these Indian delicacies in its menu

The 77th Cannes Film Festival has begun and will go on till 25 May 2024. As an event of such a stature is incomplete without a gala meal for reputed guests and dignitaries, the festival is going to serve some lip smacking cuisines from across the globe besides showcasing some reputed films and work of art.

Cannes Film Festival 2024 to have these Indian delicacies in its menu

As per a report by Times of India, this year’s menu will consist of variations of both North and South Indian delicacies. They will be tweaked according to the international taste.

The starters will include makai mathri, puranpoli tart and laal maas pao.

The elaborate drinks menu will also have some Indian origin drinks like Gin and Darjeeling tea, Bollywood Margarita made with Maya Pistola Joven, curry leaf and mango, green chilli and Bombay spice mix.

Even the dinner menu will have Malabar paratha, lamb yakhni, Kashmiri morel and toor dal, Jicama and coconut malai momo with passion fruit thukpa.

The dessert menu will include melon rabri with Roselle Sorbet, using Cacao.

The Cannes Film Festival is one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world. and is attended by filmmakers, actors, critics, and industry professionals from around the globe. Cannes is also famous for its glamorous red carpet events, where celebrities and filmmakers showcase their latest work in style.

This years marks the 77th Cannes Film Festival. American filmmaker and maker of one of the most acclaimed film of 2023, Barbie, Greta Gerwig will serve as jury president for the main competition.

As per reports Kiara Advani will represent India this year at the Red Sea Film Foundation's Women in Cinema Gala Dinner, hosted by Vanity Fair at Cannes.
