4 Diet changes to make in monsoon to reduce hairfall

Monsoon is here and so is excessive hairfall. Hair fall during the monsoon season can be attributed to several factors including the humid weather and constant exposure to rain. Rainy season also means wet scalp and increased scalp infections that make your hair more susceptible to damage and breakage.

This monsoon reduce your hairfall by making simple changes to your diet. Here are some tips.

4 Dietary changes to help reduce hairfall

Add omegas to your diet

Add Omega-3 fatty acids into your diet this monsoon. This can be a total game changer. Omega-3s are essential for maintaining a healthy scalp and promoting hair growth. Consuming fatty fish will help improve your hair quality and texture. If you are a vegetarian, flaxseeds, chia seeds, and walnuts are excellent sources.

Vitamin A

Another nutrient to add to your diet is Vitamin A. Foods rich in vitamin A include carrots, sweet potatoes, and dark leafy greens like spinach. Vitamin A helps in sebum production, a natural oil that keeps your scalp moisturised and healthy.

Iron-rich foods

During monsoon, make sure to include iron-rich foods to your diet. Foods like lean meats, beans, lentils, and fortified cereals should be a staple in your diet. If you pair these with Vitamin C-rich foods, this can enhance iron absorption.

Increase water intake

Hydration is crucial, especially during the monsoon season when humidity levels are high. Drinking plenty of water helps keep your scalp hydrated and flushes out toxins from your system. Aim for at least eight glasses of water a day. Incorporate hydrating fruits and vegetables, like cucumbers and melons, into your diet to help maintain moisture levels in your hair, preventing dryness and breakage.
