A study suggests that botox injection when injected on forehead affects brain function, impacting how they interpret other’s emotions. The study was published in Scientific Reports.

Scientists at the University of California Irvine and AbbVie scanned brain functions of women between 33 and 40 years of age, before and after botox injections were injected in their forehead.

During both the scans, they were shown images of happy, angry and neutral faces and were asked to interpret the emotions.
The team found that the temporary paralysis of the facial muscles caused by botox affects people’s ability to understand emotions thereby alter their brain chemistry.
