Let your hair not suffer the rage of summer, take care of your locks with these essential tips

Haircare in summer: Summer is here and so is sweat, dust and pollution. It's essential to keep your hair safe and healthy during the hot months as this hot and humid climate can cause damage to your hair leaving it dry, frizzy and more prone to breakage. Here are some tips to keep your hair healthy and protected during the summer months.

Tips to keep your hair safe and healthy during summer

Protection from the sun: Protect your hair from the sun's harmful UV rays by wearing a hat or using hair products containing SPF. UV radiation can damage hair cuticles, leading to dryness, frizziness, and even color fading.

Hydration: Just like your body, your hair needs hydration too. Drink plenty of water to keep your hair hydrated from within.

Keep your hair clean: If you have oily hair then in this hot weather, your hair tends to become oilier and scalp itchier. So, it's important to wash your hair regularly with a gentle shampoo. If you have dry hair then use a leave-in conditioner or hair mask regularly to keep your locks hydrated and nourished.

Avoid overwashing: Overwashing your hair can strip away its natural oils, leaving it dry and brittle. Try to limit washing to a few times a week and use a sulfate-free shampoo to prevent excessive drying.

Avoid styling tools: Whenever possible, allow your hair to air dry instead of using heat styling tools like blow dryers and straighteners. Excessive heat can further dry out your hair and cause damage.

Trim your hair regularly: Get regular trims to prevent split ends and keep your hair looking healthy. Trimming every 6-8 weeks can help maintain your hair's overall health and appearance.

Comb Carefully: Detangle your hair gently using a wide-tooth comb, especially when it's wet, to prevent breakage and minimize stress on your hair strands. Opt for protective hairstyles such as braids, buns, or ponytails to minimize exposure to the sun and reduce friction and damage from wind and humidity.

Also watch: This summer consume these spices in moderation to avoid digestive problems
