Genelia Deshmukh wears ensemble made with discarded clothes, gives major lesson on sustainability

Bollywood's favourite Genelia Deshmukh always impresses us with her stylish avatars. Recently, the diva gave a major fashion lesson in sustainability and reusing clothes. The actor shared that she and her team had been working on making a fashionable ensemble using discarded clothes. The result? Check it out for yourself!

Genelia Deshmukh's sustainable fashion

Genelia Deshmukh took to Instagram and shared pictures from her latest photoshoot where she can be seen wearing an attire made from discarded clothes.

Speaking about her attire and how she became sustainable, Genelia wrote, "I remember my Mum telling me always - “You are going to spend so much just for ONE DAY”, and back then I thought she was quite a KANJOOS and didn’t know how it all worked, and TODAY, many years later when I REUSE, UPCYCYLE and teach my children to RECYCLE, I realise that she gave me a life lesson."

She continued, "Being SUSTAINABLE is what we learn at home and I am sure that everyone is doing their best. Be it in their food habits or their lifestyle, it’s a matter of encouraging each other and not moral policing. I try my best in my choices or setting up business models like IMAGINE (plant based protein) and I still fall short but I know I’m evolving (like all of us each day) and that’s what matters the most."

Talking about her outfit, Genelia wrote, "Thank you @who_wore_what_when and my team @ayushpadukone, @rishinaacharya @jyoti_love13 @harneshjoshi to making this beautiful outfit for me using garments that were literally discarded, I know my choices may annoy you all a lot of times but look what you’ve created, something I absolutely loved."
