'Who is he?': Karnataka student's father on praise by Al Qaeda chief

The father of a Karnataka college student has distanced himself from the comments made by Al Qaeda chief praising his daughter for defending the hijab.

Mohammed Hussein reacted to Ayman Al Zawahiri's statement on Karnataka hijab row by saying that he doesn't know who the the Al-Qaeda chief is and why he spoke about an issue that involves Hussein's country.

Zawahiri, in a video released by Al Qaeda, praised Muskan Khan, the Mandya student who raised slogans of Allah-hu-Akbar after being heckled by a group of men in saffron shawls in February. He also asked Muslims in the subcontinent to fight 'intellectually, using the media and with weapons on the battlefield'.

Hussein said that Zawahiri was just spoiling the peace in India and he doesn't need to speak about matters involving the country.
