Uttarakhand's Operation Prahar strikes cybercriminals across 17 states

Uttarakhand's Operation Prahar strikes cybercriminals across 17 states

Under the leadership of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state launched 'Operation Prahar,' which has not only sent a strong message to the state but to the entire nation, according to an official release from the Uttarakhand Chief Minister's Office (CMO).

Operation Prahar delivered a heavy blow to cybercriminals, setting a remarkable example for other states.

In a historic move, for the first time in the country's history, under the direction of Uttarakhand Police, coordinated raids were conducted simultaneously across 17 states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Kerala, and Goa.

As per the release, more than 290 cybercriminals were targeted in this intensive and strategic operation.

This was far from an ordinary police action—it was the result of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's foresight and bold decision-making, triggered by a significant cyberattack incident.

When the state fell victim to cyberattacks a few months ago, CM Dhami vowed that cybercriminals would no longer be allowed to operate freely. His leadership led to the strengthening of the police department, the restructuring of cyber police stations, and an expansion of intelligence networks.

The success of Operation Prahar, with cooperation from Uttarakhand Police as well as other state and central agencies, demonstrated that Uttarakhand is not only a hub for tourism and pilgrimage but has also become a model state in the fight against cybercrime.

CM Dhami's governance model extends beyond schemes and announcements, showcasing his ability to implement practical and effective solutions. The success of this operation has highlighted the efficiency of the Uttarakhand Police on a national level and further reaffirmed CM Dhami’s strong leadership and rapid decision-making.
