Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday visited the disaster-affected region of Tharali in Chamoli district, where he personally interacted with affected villagers and reviewed ongoing relief operations.

During the visit, CM Dhami halted his convoy to listen to the grievances of local residents. Villagers urged him to expedite the opening of the road leading to the upper villages. Responding to their concerns, the Chief Minister assured that restoration work was underway on a war footing and promised to visit the villages with locals once the route was declared safe.

The Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s commitment to stand firmly with the affected families in this hour of crisis. “All necessary support should be provided to the affected people on time and with full sensitivity,” he said, adding that relief and rescue operations were being carried out round the clock.

Dhami also inspected a relief camp at Kulsari, where he interacted with displaced families and reviewed arrangements. He directed officials to ensure that the affected do not face any inconvenience. According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), cheques of ₹5 lakh each were distributed to families who lost their homes or loved ones in the disaster. He further instructed officials to expedite rehabilitation efforts for the homeless.

“No stone will be left unturned in the relief and rescue operations at the state government level,” CM Dhami emphasised.
