CM Dhami instructs officials to act swiftly on public grievances raised by MLAs

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday directed officials to treat public grievances raised by MLAs with the "utmost seriousness."

He issued the instructions during a review meeting at the Secretariat, which focused on the Chief Minister’s announcements and developmental works in assembly constituencies under the Tehri Lok Sabha constituency.

“The officers should take the public problems raised by the MLAs with utmost seriousness. The officers should constantly communicate with the MLAs to resolve various problems of the assembly constituencies. For the successful implementation of the announcements and other important schemes made under all the 70 assemblies of the state, the responsibility should be given to the officers of the Additional Secretary level to act as a bridge between the government administration and the assembly constituency,” CM Dhami instructed.

The Chief Minister also directed the Chief Secretary to personally review the progress of works in each assembly segment. He emphasised that departmental secretaries must regularly assess their departments to ensure timely redressal of constituency-level issues.

In a structured effort to enhance accountability, CM Dhami announced that he will personally review the progress of works under each Lok Sabha constituency every three months. He added that feedback regarding actions taken on the issues raised by MLAs should be shared with both the concerned legislators and the Chief Minister’s Office within a week.

CM Dhami reiterated that solving public problems remains the top priority of the state government. He stressed, “It should be ensured that there is no unnecessary delay in work related to public interest.”

He also directed officials to accelerate all construction-related activities post-monsoon and urged MLAs to submit proposals for short, medium, and long-term development projects within their respective constituencies.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure regular monitoring and timely completion of all ongoing schemes.

During the meeting, several MLAs raised concerns about issues such as road construction and widening, health services, waterlogging, beautification projects, irrigation facilities, drainage and sewerage management, embankments, and the construction of drains. The Chief Minister directed officials to expedite resolution of all these concerns.

It was informed during the meeting that out of 469 announcements made by CM Dhami under the Tehri Lok Sabha constituency, 305 have already been completed, while work on the remaining announcements is ongoing.
