Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath hailed the Indian Army’s precision strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and PoJK under Operation Sindoor, days after the deadly Pahalgam attack.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday expressed strong support for the Indian Army following its launch of 'Operation Sindoor' — a series of coordinated precision strikes on nine terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

The action comes just days after the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 individuals. In a message shared on X, the Chief Minister saluted the armed forces, writing, "(Jai Hind! Jai Hind Ki Sena!)."

Soon after the strikes, tensions escalated as Pakistan violated the Ceasefire Agreement by launching artillery fire in the Bhimber Gali sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army, in response, is said to be acting “appropriately in a calibrated manner,” according to officials.

The Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI) confirmed the development in a post on X: "Pakistan again violates the Ceasefire Agreement by firing artillery in Bhimber Gali in the Poonch-Rajouri area. Indian Army is responding appropriately in a calibrated manner."

The Ministry of Defence stated that the strikes under Operation Sindoor were aimed at locations involved in planning and directing terrorist activities against India. "A little while ago, the Indian Armed Forces launched 'Operation Sindoor', hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed," the official statement read.

A total of nine terror-linked sites were struck in what the government described as a carefully measured operation. "Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and method of execution," the Defence Ministry stated.

The strikes are seen as a direct retaliation to the “barbaric” attack in Pahalgam, which killed 25 Indian nationals and one citizen from Nepal. The government reaffirmed its commitment to bringing the perpetrators to justice and announced that a detailed briefing on Operation Sindoor would be held later in the day.

In a message shared after the strikes, the Indian Army posted on X: "Justice is served. Jai Hind!" An earlier post from the force had stated: "Ready to strike, trained to win."
