UP CM Yogi Adityanath vows to transform Chitrakoot into land of faith and self-reliance

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday visited Rajapur in Chitrakoot on the occasion of the 528th birth anniversary of Goswami Tulsidas, reiterating his government's commitment to establishing the region as a centre of faith, security, and self-reliance.

During his visit, the Chief Minister offered prayers at Tulsi Janmkutir and had darshan of the sacred manuscript of the Shri Ramcharitmanas at the Manas Mandir. He also took part in the Tulsi Sahitya Sammelan at Tulsi Resort, where he interacted with renowned spiritual leaders including Sant Murari Bapu and Jagadguru Shri Rambhadracharya.

Addressing the saints at the event, CM Yogi highlighted the cultural and spiritual prominence of Chitrakoot. “The region is destined to become a land of faith, security, and self-reliance,” he said.

At the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Ganiwan, the Chief Minister unveiled a statue of Goswami Tulsidas and promoted environmental conservation by planting Harishankari saplings. He later visited exhibitions set up by the Agriculture Department and interacted with children at the Parmanand Ashram Paddhati Vidyalaya, where he distributed chocolates and posed for photographs.

Speaking at a public event, CM Yogi reminded citizens of the deep religious roots of the area. “Lord Shri Ram spent over eleven years in Chitrakoot,” he said, noting that it had been the karmabhoomi of Goswami Tulsidas, Maharishi Valmiki, and Nanaji Deshmukh.

He also detailed key government initiatives underway in the region, including the development of the Ram Van Gaman Marg, the Bundelkhand Expressway, the Defence Corridor, and integrated tourism infrastructure in Chitrakoot. The Chief Minister announced plans to construct a riverfront along the Yamuna to boost tourism and generate local employment.

Highlighting progress in the agriculture sector, CM Yogi noted the rise in production of pulses, oilseeds, and maize. He reaffirmed continued government support for farmers through soil testing and agricultural insurance.

From the public stage, the Chief Minister also issued a strong warning to Pakistan. “Any hostile act against India will be met with a decisive response,” he asserted, underlining the strategic importance of the Defence Corridor and stating that even regions like Chitrakoot would play a key role in bolstering the nation’s defence capabilities.

He further stated that Chitrakoot today is “a place free of fear and rich in spiritual energy.” Efforts to beautify and develop key pilgrimage and educational sites such as Gramodaya University, Ashram Paddhati Vidyalaya, Valmiki Ashram, and Kamadgiri were also highlighted. Calling Gramodaya University “the foundation of a self-reliant India,” the Chief Minister urged citizens to contribute to the cultural and spiritual growth of the region.

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Minister-in-Charge Manohar Lal Mannu Kori, and senior administrative officials were also present at the event. A statue of Goswami Tulsidas was formally presented to the Chief Minister by representatives of the Deendayal Shodh Sansthan.
