Ahead of the grand Pran Pratishtha on June 5, sculptor Satyanarayan details the Ram Darbar idols' creation as temple construction nears completion.

Ram Darbar idols set for consecration on June 5 in Ayodhya

Ahead of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony scheduled for June 5 at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, sculptor Satyanarayan has shared key details about the sacred idols being installed in the Ram Darbar.

Speaking to ANI, Satyanarayan said, “The Ram Darbar is of 4.5 ft. All the other sculptures are built according to that... It has idols of Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, the sun god, Goddess Durga, Lord Hanuman, Saptrishi, Shatrughan, Bharat, Annapurna and many others. The idols of Ram and Sita are made from one stone, while the other idols are made of another stone.”

The Pran Pratishtha ceremony will span three days, with prayers and devotional events starting on June 3. According to Nripendra Mishra, Chairman of the Construction Committee of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, the ceremony will conclude on June 5.

“Preparations are complete, including essential works like waterproofing and repellency, which will continue as needed. However, the core construction of the main temple will be finalised, marking a historic milestone. The remaining construction within the temple premises is on track for completion by September-October, per the planned schedule,” Mishra said.

He added that major parts of the project—such as the Parakota, Peshavatar Temple, and the Sapt Mandir—are either completed or nearing completion. “The Sapt Mandir, housing seven pavilions and statues of sages, is already finished.

Additionally, the Pushkarni water reservoir at the centre has been completed. By the end of 2025, all construction projects initiated in 2020 are expected to be fully realised,” he added.

The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir is being constructed in the traditional Nagara architectural style. The temple spans 380 feet in length (east-west), 250 feet in width, and rises to a height of 161 feet.

It is supported by 392 intricately carved pillars and 44 elaborately designed doors. The pillars and walls feature detailed depictions of Hindu deities and mythological figures.

At the heart of the temple, in the sanctum sanctorum, rests the idol of Shri Ram Lalla in his childhood form. Since the initial Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Lord Ram Lalla earlier this year, the temple has seen a significant surge in footfall. Daily visits to the Hanumangarhi Ram Temple have also increased steadily as Ayodhya continues to draw lakhs of devotees.
