TV crew reports assault at AAP office after media coordinator told 'not to force way in', FIR registered

Delhi Police have registered a case after a TV reporter and cameraperson claimed that they were attacked inside the AAP office.

Police said the alleged incident occurred inside the AAP office in Central Delhi's IP Estate on May 20.

FIR has been registered against several unidentified persons under relevant IPC sections pertaining to punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation, and common intention among others.

The woman reporter, who is believed to be working for the Times Now channel, said that she was allegedly abused and heckled and the cameraperson accompanying her was assaulted inside the AAP office when the latter tried to enter the premises for an interview.

A video of the incident has gone viral that shows AAP’s chief media coordinator Vikas Yogi asking the TV crew to not force their way inside the AAP office.

Following the incident, the reporter said that she called the police control room (PCR) and informed them about the incident. A medico-legal case (MLC) was subsequently carried out on the reporter and the cameraperson. After the process, the case was lodged.
