Punjab government launches online portal for Ashirwad Scheme

In line with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's vision of providing seamless online services to the people of Punjab, the state government has introduced a dedicated portal for the Ashirwad Scheme.

This initiative aims to simplify and streamline the application process, ensuring it is more transparent, accessible, and user-friendly. The portal allows eligible families to apply for financial assistance from the comfort of their homes.

Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur underscored the government's commitment to providing advanced online services for Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, and Economically Weaker Sections.

Applicants can submit their applications for the Ashirwad Scheme via the official portal: http://ashirwad.punjab.gov.in. This online platform enhances the scheme’s efficiency and transparency.

Dr. Baljit Kaur explained that individuals from the targeted communities can easily apply for financial aid through the portal. The user-friendly design allows applicants to upload the required documents quickly, simplifying the process.

The Cabinet Minister highlighted that the portal ensures a completely contactless application process, removing the need for physical visits. It also enables direct communication with applicants. A built-in application manager assists users by guiding them through form submissions and resolving issues via email or phone calls.

Dr. Baljit Kaur reiterated that this initiative is a part of the Punjab Government’s ongoing efforts to support underprivileged communities. She encouraged eligible individuals to utilize the portal fully to take advantage of the scheme.

Additionally, the Cabinet Minister explained that the Ashirwad Scheme provides financial assistance of ₹51,000 for the marriage of daughters from low-income families.

To qualify, applicants must be permanent residents of Punjab and belong to the Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, or Economically Weaker Sections. The annual family income must be below ₹32,790, and the scheme covers up to two daughters per eligible family.
