As part of his 3-city tour of America, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on June 1, 2023, visited the National Press Club in Washington.

He was asked a question about the Congress opposing "Hindu party BJP" while being in alliance with the Muslim League in Kerala.

Gandhi said, "Muslim League is a completely secular party. There is nothing non-secular about the Muslim League."

He further added regarding the person who posed the question, "I think the person hasn't studied the Muslim League."
