Lakhimpur Kheri violence: Priyanka Gandhi in the footsteps of Bapu

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, General Secretary of Indian National Congress left for Lakhimpur Kheri to meet families of victims of the Lakhimpur Kheri violence on Sunday night.

On her way to Lakhimpur, Priyanka's envoy was stopped by the police and she was allegedly manhandled by the force, according to Congress.

In a video released by Srinivas BV of Youth Congress, Priyanka can be seen demanding a warrant from the police offers if they were to arrest her.

However, before she could reach Lakhimpur Kheri, Gandhi was detained by the police in Sitapur.

Currently, she has been lodged in a Provincial Arms Constabulary guest house which she is seen sweeping in a video released by her team.

After cleaning the room, which her team claims was dirty, Gandhi sat on a fast.

In a tweet, her brother Rahul Gandhi applauded her saying that in this 'non-violent fight for justice, we will make the farmers win.'

Following in the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi, Priyanka has taken the non-violent approach in her fight for the slain farmers.
