Lok Sabha: 2nd day of walkout by Opposition MPs over denial of discussion on India-China Tawang clash

For the second consecutive day, Opposition MPs staged a walkout from the Lok Sabha after denial of a discussion on India-China border tension again.

Sonia Gandhi and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury led out the Congress MPs. They were followed by TMC MPs.

Prior to the walkout, the Congress pressed for a discussion on the border flare-up. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said, "Since yesterday we have been demanding that a discussion be held in the House on the situation at the India-China border. Let me give an example."

Chowdhury continued, "In 1962, when we had a war with China... It's not against anyone. In 1962, when the India-China war occurred, PM Jawaharlal Nehru sat in Parliament and gave 165 MPs the chance to speak. After letting everyone speak, the decision regarding what to do was taken."

To this, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla replied, "It will be decided in the Business Advisory Committee."

Unsatisfied, the Opposition MPs left the Lower House.
