Jahangirpuri riots: AAP shares pictures of main accused Ansar, says he's BJP leader

Alleging that the main accused in the Jahangirpuri riots – Ansar – is a BJP leader, AAP MLA Atishi on Tuesday said that he played a major role in getting BJP’s candidate Sangeeta Bajaj to contest and plays an active role in BJP.

Atishi shared pictures on Twitter and claimed that Ansar had in the past been seen with BJP leaders.

Calling the BJP, a party of hooligans, the AAP lawmaker said that the saffron party must apologise to the people of Delhi.

Clashes broke out between two communities during a Hanuman Jayanti procession in Jahangirpuri on Saturday, in which eight police personnel and a local resident were injured.

The Delhi Police has registered an FIR against two men from the the Delhi unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal for organising a Shobha yatra to mark Hanuman Jayanti in Northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri.
