Congress infighting ahead of BMC election? Thorat quit party post amid tussle with Patole, say reports

On 6 February, a close of Thorat had claimed that the senior leader has written to the party's leadership, accusing state unit chief Nana Patole of harbouring "anger" towards him.

Infighting appears to have broken out in yet another Congress state unit.

Now, Congress leader from Maharashtra, Balasaheb Thorat is reported to have resigned from the post of Maharashtra Congress legislature party leader, as parties prepare for the important BMC elections.

The resignation letter was sent on 2 February 2023, according to sources quoted by NDTV.

On 6 February, a close of Thorat had claimed that the senior leader has written to the party's leadership, accusing state unit chief Nana Patole of harbouring "anger" towards him. Thorat said that he is unable to work with Patole.
